Gap Home Kids + Walmart— Colorfully Bright Bed & Bath
Nearly one year ago, the Gap and Walmart came together to launch an exclusive partnership, Gap Home. The items are manufactured by Gap but only available online through Walmart. This is the Gap’s way of reinventing themselves as they’ve struggled with declining revenue over the past few years. Additionally, this is the first time Walmart has partnered with a fashion brand on home collection.
The Gap Home line spans across everything from furniture, to rugs, tabletop items, home decor, bedding, bath and more. Most recently, the Gap and Walmart expanded their partnership to include a home goods line for kids. And let me tell you, it’s fantastic.
Gap Home Kids includes more than 200 items across bedding, bath, pillows, throws, rugs and window treatments priced from $20 to $79. The line is styled in Gap’s classic aesthetic of chambrays, stripes and washed denim as well as on-trend prints and colors.
A Coastal Bedroom Design with Walmart
Typically, when I think of Walmart, I think of groceries, household items, toys and the phrase, “Rollback Prices!” I certainly don’t think of a coastal-inspired designer bedroom.
But yup, you guessed it. This mood board I threw together is entirely sourced from Walmart.
Paint Sampling Made Easy with Samplize
When you are updating your home or creating a design for a client, paint colors throughout a space play a critical role in the overall aesthetic of the home and overall design.
I was beginning to become frustrated with the money, time and material wasted during paint sampling when selecting colors for my own home. Though nearly all manufacturers provide swatches at the stores, these aren’t produced with real paint, are incredibly small, and aren’t truly accurate to the final color or texture.
DIY Product Highlight — Liquid Masking Tape
If you’re into DIY, chances are you’ve taken on the project of painting some type of window trim or glass. It’s not an overly difficult undertaking but the prep can be quite time consuming.
I’m a firm believer in working smarter, not harder. That’s why this time when I had to prime and paint a transom window that will be installed above my son’s bathroom door I decided to forgo the painters tape and try out liquid masking tape instead.
Top Paint Colors for the Light, Bright & Airy Home
These are my top Benjamin Moore paint color recommendations for anyone looking to achieve a light, bright and airy interior in their home.
Peonies — The King of Flowers
The peony, such a beloved flower, is the very epitome of June. With it’s huge blossoms, vibrant colors and fragrant scents, theses flowers are to be desired by any who appreciate it’s delicate beauty. The Chinese were the first nation to properly value the stunning beauty of the peony. In the East the peony symbolizes good fortune, honor and a happy marriage. However, the peony was introduced to the West for it’s perceived medicinal properties.
Entryway Makeover — Pt. 2, The Tile Floor
This is Part 2 in my Entryway Makeover Series where I share all the details about installing new tile in our foyer. This Entryway Makeover has been quite the domino effect since it began with replacing our front entry door. My decision to swap out that door has led to me to replacing the tile floor, remodeling the coat closet, updating the trim, painting, replacing light fixtures….and on and on it goes. Who knew there would be so much to do in such a little space?
Maryland Coastal Kitchen
A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of photographing a newly renovated kitchen for a client in Edgewater, Maryland. The space was absolutely stunning and offered so much thoughtful detail throughout the kitchen. Those who companies and individuals who partook in the design and build are all local to Anne Arundel County, Maryland and are listed below for your reference if you need a place to start in your own renovation.
Entryway Makeover — Pt. 1, The Door.
I believe the entryway to a home speaks volumes about a person. When a guest arrives, this is usually the first space they experience when coming into your home. As the old saying goes, a person forms their opinion about someone in the first 7 seconds of meeting them. Well, the same rings true when someone walks into your home for the first time.
When we purchased this house in June of 2021, I knew this would be one of the first few projects I would take on because it wasn’t quite the reflection of me, or my family, that I was going for.
Brick Fireplace Makeover
I’m so excited to share with you all the “how-to” details on my recent brick fireplace makeover! This project does come with a bit of a mess, but it’s so inexpensive and delivers such a “big impact” transformation, that a little extra clean up is certainly worth it.
